The ZMBH (Zentrum für Molekulare Biologie der Universität Heidelberg) is a center for research and higher education in molecular biology and biomedicine. Research within the ZMBH addresses fundamental questions of molecular and cellular biology at the level of molecules, cells and organisms. Joint research interests resulted in an alliance with the DKFZ, which is located next door. This so-called DKFZ-ZMBH-Alliance fosters close collaboration of the ZMBH with the research program Cell and Tumor Biology of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).

Several core facilities within the building provide access to mass spec, more microscopes, FACS etc. The building also contains electronics and mechanical workshops for custom made parts.
