Research
past and present

We are interested in how cells work, with a focus on the spatio-temporal organisation of the proteome, cellular protein quality management and protein turn over (proteostasis), as well as different aspects of cell differentiation, from yeast mating to meiosis.
We develop new methods and technologies to study these processes. We use mainly yeast as a model and employ state of the art and our new technologies to investigate biological questions of general relevance.
Our approaches consider always the dynamic and the mechanistic aspects of proteins and their functions in the various processes, and we use reverse and forward genetic approaches to further dissect the principles and mechanisms behind their roles inside the cells.
